Talvitanssit / Vinterdaser / Winterdances is a multidisciplinary “one-day” festival focused on the art form of dance and how it interacts with other media such as live music, visual art and especially film.

The festival every year wants to display live performances, art exhibitions and dance films in Kino Marily, the cultural center and cinema theater of Loviisa, a small town in the south of Finland. The charming town is a beautiful place where a lot of artists are living, making it the perfect place for this multi language event.

The festival organizes on the same day: live performance, film screenings, workshops and seminars.

The Festival is produced by Tanssiartesaani in collaboration with Loviisa Taiteen Tukiyhdistys who organize the “Art in Lov” residency program. Each year an international dance artist is invited to Loviisa for one month in order to collaborate with us and other local artists in producing a dance performance that will be shown during the Winterdances Festival.

We create an open call for Short Dance Films in order to curate specific screenings.
