“NoCore: NewColab” is an interactive and post-perf

“NoCore: NewColab” is an interactive and post-performative exhibition exploring healing traumas through movement, media, and embodied experience.

Visitors are guided through a series of interactive and multimedia installations that invite reflection on self-care, intimacy, and resilience in coexisting. The exhibition creates an introspective space where everyone is welcome to enter, observe, rest, listen, or play with the elements at their own pace. Rather than offering fixed narratives, the works encourage personal encounters with yourself and quiet participation.

In the Winterdances 2026 program there is “Movements for Caring”: a curated screening of short international dance films exploring human relationships, environmental awareness, and empathy through dance and moving images. The program invites audiences to reflect on how movement can become a language of care — for ourselves, for others, and for the world we inhabit.

Thanks to our collaboration with Scenkonst Sörmland (Sweden), this year’s curatorial selection includes 15 films. Due to program limitations in Finland, 7 films will be screened during Winterdances 2026.

All the 15 films are going to be presented as part of our partner festival Dansfilmsdagar 2026 in Sweden. They will be shown within the Movements for Caring framework in different contexts, including school screenings, public-space screenings, and evening programs.

Dansfilmsdagar 2026 takes place in Eskilstuna and across the Sörmland region from 18 to 23 May 2026.

KUDOS / WEAVE - PERFORMATIVE DANCE WORKSHOP

Welcome to Performative dance workshop led by dance artists Virva Talonen and Jenni Koistinen. They work with movement, play, and local nature.

In this workshop we will dive into an easy, interactive and playful movement task.

In the task, common networks are formed creating a weave in which everyone is part of the whole.

Kudos / Weave becomes a performance at that moment, through participatory action.

The workshop is free of charge and is open for all ages. You do not need any previous background of experience in dance. The workshop will be conducted in Finnish. Swedish and English will also be used if necessary.

The workshop is part of the University of Helsinki’s Art of Knowing project, funded by the Kone Foundation, in which we are working with researchers and dance artists to develop embodied, intuitive, and imaginative ways of knowing.

DURATION: 45 minutes.

The production of “Healing Core: Colab Session 1” is continuing, this time in dialogue with the music “8 pieces for Violin and Cello” by Reinhold Gliére played live by Elina Mieskolainen @spinayarn_fi and Laura Saari @zugahara . @beniamino_borghi focuses, with this choreography, on the them of healing, traumas and transformation in a interdisciplinary performance that combines his research Dance with/from/for Objects developed through his studies at the Stockholm University of the Arts - Master in Dance Education @skhdanspedagogik

Talvitanssit / Vinterdanser /Winterdances 2026 Program:
“Healing Core – Colab Session 1”: A live multimedia dance performance exploring traumas, healing and acceptance.
Choreographed to the music of Reinhold Glière, performed live by violin and cello. The performance invites the audience to reflect on rest, resilience, and the evolving sense of self through movement and live classical music.
Everyday objects — in this case, pillows — become partners and symbols of softness, support, and memory.

Patricia is in a residency project in Loviisa for 2 months at @artinlov.loviisa Art in Lov residence coordinated by Stödföreningen för Loviisa konst - Loviisan Taiteen tukiyhdistys.
The project is also part of their studies at @m.a.d.e._in_stockholm Master in Dance Education at the Stockholm University of the Arts.
