NoCore:Encage. Performative and multimedia exhibition, with group and personal workshops, is dedicated to liberating our identities from social norms.

During the exhibition, visitors can participate in one-to-one workshops to create a dance solo (3-5 minutes long) based on their thoughts and stories. This “ritual” aims to liberate parts of themselves that have been trapped inside.

NoCore: Encaged - Exhibition with Dance, Film, and

NoCore: Encaged - Exhibition with Dance, Film, and Interactivity.
Part of the exhibition is a video installation that serves as a manifesto, celebrating the liberation of our bodies to express emotions through movement and the art of film. Dance film is an art form with roots in the history of cinema. Even today, cinematic productions frequently incorporate choreographed, expressive movements.
Dance on film is a powerful language, capable of conveying our deepest feelings, imaginations, emotions, and critical thoughts.

The preparation is not only at the physical place

The preparation is not only at the physical place of the gallery but also in the studio. The music and sound designer Ruby Luise Rose is working on the soundscapes for both the workshops that we will facilitate during the whole period of the exhibition:
- group workshop for people from 12 years up, for liberating our identies;
- one-to-one workshop for a ritual based on movements exploration that resemble the internal conflicts of self protection and liberation.

One of the multimedia installations showcases the dance film “Third Law of Motion”, created with three young dancers exploring age norms and generational clashes. The film has been selected for the 2024 WildDogs International Screendance Festival in Calgary, Canada.

En av multimedia-installationerna förevisar dansfilmen “Third Law of Motion”, skapad med tre unga dansare som utforskar åldersnormer och generationskrockar. Filmen deltar i WildDogs International Screendance Festival 2024 i Calgary, Kanada.
