NoCore: Liberation is the third edition of the NoCore community project, developed through a series of choreographic workshops exploring gender expression, sexuality, migration, and personal identity. The project invites participants to examine how their bodies communicate — how we stand, sit, move, speak, and relate — and how these gestures are shaped by cultural expectations and gendered norms.

Across many societies, prejudices and intolerance still force LGBTQ+ individuals to hide parts of themselves. In this context, NoCore: Liberation becomes a space for reclaiming expression. Through physical theatre, pedestrian movement, and personal storytelling, participants transform “not-yet-spoken” experiences of homosexuality and gender fluidity into embodied performance material.

The final 30-minute performance was created collaboratively with amateur movers, novice performers, and professional artists, supported by Zodiak – Center for New Dance. It was presented during Helsinki Pride Week at the National Museum of Finland and later at Loviisa Pride / Kucku Festival, offering visibility to voices and stories often marginalized within public discourse.

NoCore: Liberation is both a performance and a process. It highlights the power of collective creation, where shared vulnerability, courage, and curiosity become pathways toward personal and social liberation.
